Teradek Bolt 6 XT 750 Wireless Video Transmitter/Receiver Set
Teradek
A professional, zero-delay wireless video transmission system operating on the newly opened 6GHz spectrum, allowing focus pullers and directors to monitor 4K HDR video up to 750 feet away without interference.
Pros
- + It features true 'Zero Delay.' When the camera operator moves the camera, the director's monitor updates instantaneously, which is an absolute requirement for pulling focus
- + It operates on the newly unlocked 6GHz Wi-Fi spectrum, completely bypassing the massive, chaotic traffic jam of cell phones and routers on the traditional 5GHz band
- + The XT model features cross-conversion. You can input an SDI signal from an ARRI camera into the transmitter, and output an HDMI signal from the receiver to a cheap client monitor
Risks
- - It is violently expensive. A single transmitter and receiver pair costs more than many professional cinema cameras
- - It runs incredibly hot and draws a massive amount of power; you must power it via a large V-mount battery or D-Tap connection
- - The '750' in the name means 750 feet of *Line of Sight*. If you take the camera inside a massive concrete bunker and the receiver is sitting in a grip truck outside, the dense concrete will instantly crush the 6GHz signal. High frequencies cannot penetrate solid rock.
